Fishing Report: A Warmish Thursday

Spread the love

It did stay under the freezing point for most of the night on our way to a high of 43F today.  Winds SSW at 5-10mph with a steady barometer through the day before it begins to rise into Friday when it turns much cooler.  Friday is going to bring some very strong winds with things calmer for Saturday.  With 3-5″ forecast for Sunday, I’d say Saturday is the pick for the weekend.

Fishing Report

The lake has some drifted, wind-blown snow with glare ice underneath it.  The ice conditions remain very slippy underneath that snow, creepers if you are walking.  Both wheelers and sleds are moving along the Oneida Lake just fine, just keep in mind that pressure crack that we mentioned yesterday.  Still getting reports in of 12-14″ of ice thickness from the major fishing spots on the lake.  Walleye bite was strong yesterday with limits taken along the north shore, especially in the Cleveland area.
