Fishing Report: Warm Up This Week

Spread the love

A high of 45F today with SE winds at 5-10 mph.  The rain will move in later today and will stay with us off and on through Wednesday.  Mid-50s tomorrow and low 60s for Wednesday with the first sub-freezing temperature to return in the early hours of Thursday.  We will be basically fishing a flat barometer until lunch on Wednesday when a new system rolls in.  Right now the forecast is for a wet weekend, but it is a bit early to worry about that.

Fishing Report

A very solid bite over the weekend with Saturday being the stronger of the two days.  The perch have remained strong and we already have several nice reports in today with spikes the go-to as more seem to be targeting perch now although the walleye are still active.  We do have a big crack that has opened near 3 mile bay.  Also getting more burbot being caught, keep in mind those are good eating.  We are going to be watching the ice conditions very carefully this week, with the runoff expected areas around the creeks will deteriorate this week.  The long-range forecast is not looking favorable at this point.
