The fireworks last night in Brewerton were outstanding, hats off to the organizers and the great crowd that showed up. Next up is Sylvan Beach on the fifth.
We are going to have another hot one today with highs well into the 90s. Light wind and the few showers right now look like they will stay to the south of the Oneida Lake area. The heat is going to break on Thursday with the weekend looking very nice.
Still getting great reports from across the lake on walleye. As expected, they are running deeper and trolling speeds have increased. Most people are reporting speeds around 1.0 mph or a touch faster on worm harnesses. Bucktail jigs are still producing decent walleye as well. The bass have scattered and we are getting a higher than normal amount of reports of large mouth bass–shallow water.
The algae does not look as bad this morning and the mayfly hatch seems to be easing now as we move toward the weekend. Should be a great next couple of days, a reminder to check your safety gear on your boat.
