A few boats out on Oneida Lake over the weekend that did very well on perch and walleye as the rest of us continue to wait for the ice. She’s locked up for now after a cold Sunday night. That said, we have very heavy winds in the forecast tonight and its likely to rip back open by Tuesday morning. Combine that with a couple 40 degree days with heavy rain and we are back to the waiting game.
The good news is the air turns much colder Thursday and Friday and Saturday nights are showing single-digit temperatures for the first time this winter. More cold to follow into next week so we are thinking after this next couple of days passes we will finally be in an ice building mode.
We will resume daily posts toward the end of the week.
