Not seeing too many out there today fishing with early morning wind chills in the -20 to -30 range. With wind gusts up to 40mph, most are wisely opting to wait it out. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for much less wind and a high of 16F. A high of 29F Saturday and 38F on Sunday sets us up for a busy weekend on Oneida Lake.
One day off is not going to hurt anyone and will save us from a lot of gear flying down the lake. With this cold and wind stay aware of new cracks forming as the crowds get back out tomorrow and into the weekend. We will have plenty of ice to withstand the warmer air coming in next week.
More than one person lost gear out there in the wind yesterday so if anyone finds anything, hit the many forums for Oneida Lake to return it or post it here and we will relay the information.
