Seriously, this is pretty cool. We have a bunch of activity here on Oneida Lake, with a couple of fishing tournaments this weekend and some great weather. Cold Friday night into Saturday as we are right around 0F during the overnight so plan for a chilly start. Warming all the way up to a balmy 32F, wind creeping up as the day moves on 10-20 mph with some gusts. The wind shouldn’t be as bad as what we saw earlier in the week, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Also, several cracks have opened on the lake. We have one east of Taft Bay that is well confirmed, reports of a couple others but I have really bad location information on those as the information came in second hand. Will update as more information comes in.
So where to fish, well anywhere on Oneida Lake. I got phenomenal reports coming in from all directions, it really doesn’t seem to matter where, what, or when; just get the hell out there. I can’t remember a time where we have seen so many walleye and perch limits and the perch are just huge. I’m expecting some huge numbers in the derby tomorrow. We are going to be out filming tomorrow so I hope to get that video up quickly as well.
