Unless you live in a hole, you should know that we have some severe weather about to hit the Oneida Lake area. Oneida Sheriff Robert Maciol issued a statement earlier urging everyone to stay off all Oneida County lakes and waterways until further notice “for the safety of ice fishermen, snowmobilers, and first responding rescue personnel.”
As Sunday winds down I can still see a few still out there, we have all sorts of weather and travel advisories in the area. It is time to get off and stay off the lake until this dangerous weather passes.
With wind gusts approaching 70mph Oneida Lake is not safe for fishing. We will update as the storm passes. We have had some close calls this winter, we know this weather is coming, stay off the lake.
