Rain On and Off

Spread the love

Rain is in the forecast for most of the day before it begins to clear later in the day, no wind issues though and a few are out.  Still getting reports of a decent shore bite, the walleye it seems are either in shallow or in water deeper than 30′.  Still a variety of lures and colors doing the job.  Reports of perch in 10-15 FOW running north to south off Sylvan/Verona Beach.  Bass are biting like crazy on the western end of the lake.

From the News Department:

  • We have spoken with some tournament organizers who are looking to bring a very large walleye tournament to Oneida Lake for the 2020 season.  Keep checking back for additional details and a formal announcement.  The proposed tournament offers a pretty unique and exciting format and is backed by some major sponsors.  That is all we can report on at this time, but we were told an announcement is coming soon and is pending on some arrangements that need to be made at the local level.
  • Sylvan Beach Mayor Greg Horan says he is “99% sure” that the village will allow supervised swimming at the beach this year.  The plan is pending approval from Oneida County but looks likely.

A much better day tomorrow with a high of 62F, light winds, and some sun.
