Boat traffic on Oneida Lake has been much lower this week, though we do see an uptick out there today. The weather looks like it will cooperate Friday and Saturday, with a pretty stiff wind forecast for Sunday and Monday. Above-average temperatures these next few days, with a high of 87F on Sunday!
We are getting reports of perch schooled up off Chapman Park and Verona Beach, with folks using fatheads. The area from buoys 105 to 113 is producing nice walleye and the north shore running east from Cleveland is also producing for those trolling sticks. Some walleye are suspended up, but the biters seem to be lurking a bit deeper. The wall in Sylvan Beach is producing nice fish very early 3-6am, with fish coming up to the surface. Sticks, soft plastics, sonars, and jigging raps are all producing fish. It has been a grind out there, but those putting in the time are hauling in fish.
We are in the process of making some much-needed updates to the site so bear with us over the next couple of weeks as we trudge ahead and get ready for ice fishing. Also, we do have a couple of cool things coming along for those of you that follow the site.
