A cool start to the day as we work up to a high near 90F today. We are looking forward to a busy weekend on the lake with several tournaments going on this weekend. Things look cooler for the weekend but we are watching the wind speeds for now as the forecast is calling for some breezy conditions.
Last night’s trolling seminar was packed with great information. About two dozen people were at Lakeside Outfitters for the event. We have plenty of video from the event and will be posting a series of videos over the next couple of days. If you missed it, check out the latest episode of the New Oneida Lake Show for some great information as well. We have another great guest scheduled for the next show and will be talking some bass as the season progresses.
We are still getting great reports from people trolling for walleye in the deeper water using both worm harnesses and sticks, the best speed seems to be 1.1 to 1.4 although we are getting a few people doing well using even faster speeds. Action is still coming from a wide variety of colors so be willing to mix things up as the fish have moved a bit deeper as the season has progressed. We have gotten a ton of good reports from the drop off along the north shore and also around 113 and 125 in particular.
Some good news for the local economy, Cinderallas in Sylvan Beach is under new ownership and is expected to reopen in the next few days. Here’s hoping they will keep the kitchen open a little later as it is pretty tough to find food in the beach after 9pm right now 🙂
Fireworks next week in Brewerton on Wednesday night–always one of the best shows in the area–with Sylvan Beach also putting their show on Wednesday night. That could make for an interesting evening on the lake so please use extra caution out there at night.
