The wind is fired up here on Oneida Lake this morning coming out of the southeast. Just seeing a couple of boats out there right now. It is expected to get pretty hot today with the potential for some damaging storms later on. Things may stay breezy well into tomorrow.
The walleye bite along the south shore was on fire yesterday. Action north of Dutchman Island and Billington Bay remained steady throughout the day. Most reports came in from 22-28 FOW along the south and north shore and off the beaches on the east shore, but clearly the best action was along the south shore. Color patterns remained the same as the past few days: perch, chartreuse, and orange. A lot of trolling action, but several reports came in from people using sonars.
The Cleveland Dock project now looks pretty close to completion with the concrete wall poured. Still no word on a completion date, but it can’t be too much longer now.
If you venture out today, please keep a lookout for bad weather approaching and realize with the wind it may take longer to get back to safe harbor. The lake has a pretty strong current going already.
