The opening weekend tournament proved to be a great event for the winner, Kyle Magill-Jones caught the winning fish at 25 3/4 around 9 pm Saturday. Kyle collected $2,000 for the win and that fish also happened to be a tagged fish bringing his total to $4,500–a nice evening on the water for sure. Deborah Pollock of Memphis finished second at 25 1/8 and George Walker took home third with a 24 1/2 inch walleye. Another great opener in spite of the wind and rain over the weekend.
The canal, Fish Creek and Oneida Creek are all hot spots with walleye being caught with sticks and jigging raps. Along the north shore, we are getting reports of walleye being taken during the day from 25-35 FOW with many folks working the drop. The action seems to be pretty streaky right now. We have a warm start to the week before things cool down for the second half of the week.
