Ice conditions are improving by the minute here on Oneida Lake this morning.  The vast majority of the snow stayed to the north and the story yesterday was more of the wind.  The westerly wind pushed what ice remained toward the eastern half of the lake.  From Lewis Point on the south shore and North Bay along the north shore moving east is where those remnants are stacked up.  It looks fairly passable once the time is right, and you will see some of that along the north shore, but not as bad–less and less as you move toward the west.  While not smooth, it looks manageable to navigate.

The western portion of the lake maintained is coverage during the winds, and as of this morning, the main body of Oneida Lake is locked up again.  A light coating of snow remains on top of the ice.  Some wind will pick up tomorrow and that should be enough to blow her clean.  The seven-day forecast looks nice, with only a few hours above freezing and nights in the single digits or lower.

We expect ice conditions and fishing reports to begin to come in over the next few days as there is plenty of pent-up demand here on Oneida Lake.
