A very light dusting of snow overnight with another dusting during the day today.  We reach a high of 25F before it drops below zero again tonight.  Another cold one for Saturday with the high just creeping above 10F with winds out of the NNW at 10-20 mph.  Saturday night may be the last sub-zero temperatures the Oneida Lake region experiences for at least a week as some warm air moves in toward the middle of next week.  Highs are now forecast close to 50F and well above 40F for portions of next week.  The coastal storm, however, will miss Oneida Lake.  A nice one though for today at least, the barometer is rising just a bit through the day Friday, before it falls through the day Saturday.

Ice conditions remain good here on Oneida Lake with both wheelers and sleds reporting zero to few issues, just be mindful of cracks.  There is more snow cover as you move east, with 3-4 inches of snow sitting on top of the ice along Sylvan and Verona Beaches.  Still a pretty easy drag out there.  The wind over the weekend should blow a good amount off the lake and hopefully reduce slushy conditions in the afternoons next week.

Some good reports came in from the 109 area and points east working walleye in 20-30 FOW.  Pimples and jigging raps–wonderbread continues to be a hot pattern.  Williams and Chapman may have cooled off a bit as the number of reports from those areas has been steadily dropping over the past couple of days.  Take it with a grain of salt though as fewer people have been out overall.  Good reports with perch colors and orange dominant patterns along the north shore with a lot of people using a variety of spoons–Jewel and Taft have been good spots, streaky reports out of Cleveland.  A lot of reports indicated a move toward deeper water in the afternoon proved a wise move.  Overall, it remains a strong bite.
