We have a nice day forecast for Friday with high temperatures in the mid-60s here on Oneida Lake. The rain should stay south of us today and tomorrow but the possibility of a bit of precipitation remains although low. Winds will pick up later on in the day on Saturday before things calm back down on Sunday. The water temperature is around 52.
The Lions Club derby is this weekend for only $20 so we expect traffic to be much heavier this weekend. Overall reports coming in seem to favor the western side of the lake. Perch, black & gold, and black & silver are getting it done in the walleye department. There does also seem to be a bit of an uptick in reports coming in from the wall in the beach, which is good news for those staying onshore.
Bass beds are set up around four feet of water, and the largemouth males are lurking around, but are not interested in eating. Smallmouth action is much tougher–very limited reports.
