Fishing Report for Saturday, June 30, 2018

Spread the love

Heat warnings and an excessive heat warning for tomorrow.  A high of 94F today with not much wind, even hotter for Sunday and Monday with the high up to 98F–wow.  Pretty clear for the weekend with a shower here and there for the early part of next week.  With the holiday weekend, expect plenty of boat traffic.  Just a reminder, Godfrey Point is down to one lane.  That may be keeping people away because the parking lot there has not been bad all year.

We are getting plenty of bass reports from across the lake now with plastics and crankbaits.  Walleyes continue to bite on harness rigs but most limits are coming in at or deeper than 30 FOW.  Trolling speeds have increased, most we have spoken with are at or close to 1mph trolling.  Still getting decent action on bucktails as well with the occasional perch mixed in.

We’d like to send good thoughts to Jamie Hartman who had to drop out of the Bassmaster Elite Series due to issues with his sciatic nerve.  Fortunately, Jamie has accumulated enough points already this year to be eligible again next year.  Looking forward to seeing him healthy and back out there again.
