Gearing Up For The Weekend

Spread the love

Mid-30s on Friday and low 40s on Saturday with rain late in the day before it warms up big time for Sunday. However, Sunday looks like a no-go as of right now with very dangerous winds predicted for the Oneida Lake area. One weather report mentioned hurricane force winds Sunday, and the usual weather warnings are in effect.

Ice conditions remain good, both wheelers and sleds are moving around the lake and the drag is solid. Walleye are continuing to be light liped, lots of shorts. There is a bit of action right around sunset, but most reports during the day say they are looking. The perch are still biting along both the north and south shores as well as the panfish in Big Bay.

Lakeside Outfitters, 3279 St. Rt. 31 in Canastota, will be opening Saturday as of right now. For those of you who have not heard, Lakeside is a new tackle/bait shop and more opening up right by the Lewis Point access site. The store is nothing short of beautiful and is a game changer for Oneida Lake. They will be adding a lot of inventory over the next couple of weeks. This store is an extremely exciting addition to the Oneida Lake fishing scene and has also come on as a site sponsor as well as providing additional fishing reports to this site.
