Fishing has been on fire here on Oneida Lake with many great reports. The wall bite is strong with many walleye limits reported on jigs and sonars using both worms and minnows. Messenger produced well in 28 feet due to the mudline. The only bad area we heard about was between 111 and 113 with lots of shorts and silver bass. Lakeport Bay is hot, 119 to 125 and into the islands is producing plenty of walleye with the area around 125 producing particularly well with both walleye and smallies in the mix.
Lots of walleye still being caught on the west end out near Brewerton heading out into the river. Smallmouth activity is very strong as well, working through plenty of pickerel as you make your way–big smallies on raps. Also got a lot of reports that came in from those using crayfish. Lakeside has them in stock at the moment. Some colors that are still hot trolling for walleye are pinks, blues, purples, chartreuse and white Scott at Lakeside Outfitters reports. Still getting good reports anywhere from .7 all the way up to 1.4 mph trolling. The jig bite has reappeared for those still using them, both with bucktails (black/gold) and purple and white and blues. There is still a good drift going on the lake today for those jigging. It is a beautiful day out on Oneida Lake today with plenty of boats out there enjoying the action as the lake has calmed down a lot from yesterday.
