Fishing Report: An Active Lake

Spread the love

It is good to see so many people enjoying the ice fishing on Oneida Lake today.  We have a high of 35F with SSE winds at 5-10 mph.  Similar tomorrow with the wind picking up a bit.  The lake has really firmed up from yesterday and travel is much easier.  Things should stay dry through the weekend and into Monday before the rain comes later.  Tuesday and Wednesday are now showing highs above 60F with rain so we will see how the shores hold up.

Fishing Report

Getting some nice reports in both for walleye and perch.  After a slow start to the week, there has been nice activity (walleye and perch) off Lewis Point (20-30 FOW) and also off Jewel and into Cleveland–most people are sticking with the jigging raps.  You still may need to move a couple times but things are generally more active.  Perch are really trending in the right direction along the north and east shores.  We still have ice thickness ranging from 10-15″ and the concern this week is going to be the shores with significant amounts of runoff expected.
