Warmer today but a big-time wind out of the south will likely keep the boats and our new found freedom off the lake today. Tomorrow looks a bit too windy as well, but the wind calms down Thursday and into the weekend. We are in a cooler weather pattern as daily highs and lows are about ten degrees below normal–that looks like it will carry into next week. Oneida Lake is still fairly cold, we have had a lot of talk and questions about the lake level and the damns were open at least a couple of days ago. The lake is presently right on the maximum target of the Canal Corporation so don’t expect much in the way of a rise before walleye season opens.
A couple of reminder points:
A reminder that from Nov 1 to May 1, all persons aboard a pleasure vessel less than 21 feet must wear a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) while underway AND
The Cleveland Dock Fishing Access Site is CLOSED until further notice due to site improvement construction, the crew is making progress and we do not have the word when it will reopen, but another week and half of work and they will probably be very close.
