Watching the Weather for the Walleye Opener

Spread the love

As we all get ready for Saturday’s opener for walleye on Oneida Lake we are monitoring the weather a bit.  Right now Saturday looks breezy and cool, the good news is that Sunday we return to more seasonable temperatures with much less wind, although a chance of a shower or two remains.  Hopefully, the lake stays calm enough Saturday for people to move around the lake–Friday looks very windy at this point.

The docks are now in at Godfrey Point, so all access points are ready to go on Oneida Lake.  We still have not seen the hazard buoys go in so we are passing the heads up to folks who like to see their propellers remain intact.  The Oneida Lake Association has a great safety map on its site for those looking for a free resource.  Walleye Wednesday will begin next Wednesday at 6 pm at the South Shore Boat Launch.   Good luck to everyone participating in this weekend’s tournament.
