We have a wind chill warning until 1 pm on Saturday, with temperatures staying in the single digits all day before dropping back below zero overnight with a NE wind at 10-20 mph. That translates to wind chills between -10 to -30 out there.  Sunday is the pick day with temperatures in the mid-20s with much less wind.  Late Sunday we have a Winter Storm Watch and are expecting at least six inches of snow from Sunday night into Monday afternoon–totals to the west are projected to be much higher, that extra snow can stay there.  Barometric pressure rises Saturday morning, flat during the afternoon, and drops rapidly on Sunday.

Ice condition reports came in highly variable on Friday here on Oneida Lake.  We got reports in as low as two inches (those folks headed back in) up to as high as seven inches, obviously, those reports will continue to improve, but it’s worth noting reports were conflicting.  The north shore continues to lag behind other areas.  Those getting out are reporting solid catches with an easy drag.  Some reports of very slick areas so creepers and a spud are essentials today.

We have been asked to remind people that the daily limit for walleye on Oneida Lake remains at three (15″ minimum).
